If you’re keeping track, this weekly note is either very late or a day early. I couldn’t get my brain in to gear to write anything last week for various reasons. Keep reading for news about my new book out TODAY and a giveaway.
It’s a good reminder that it’s okay to take a break. So take this as me giving you permission to take a step back from a project if you need to so for a little while.
This week’s obsessions
✏️ I’ve been learning how to use Procreate on my iPad and it’s been a fun change of pace. It makes my brain happy to learn something new.
I’m quite proud of this little elephant. Even if she looks like she’s levitating.
📕Accountable: The True Story of a Racist Social Media Account and the Teenagers Whose Lives It Changed* by
. If you have teens, give them this book. It should be mandatory reading before anyone has a social media account.📺 Beckham on Netflix. So much nostalgia! And a fascinating insight into one of the world’s most famous footballers (yes footballer, I’m British remember).
News
At last, book five in The Wish Library series is out in the world. The Vanishing Friend is about sleep away camp, bullying, and friendship. So join me at Linden Tree Books on Saturday November 4th at Noon for s’mores, campfire songs and to make friendship bracelets.
And how about a giveaway? Enter on Rafflecopter now for your chance to win a copy of a hardcover copy of The Vanishing Friend.
More about the book:
When Luca's cabinmate wishes to disappear because of bullying, Raven and Luca use their knowledge of wishes--and friendship--to bring him back.
When Raven and Luca go to sleepaway camp, they can't wait to have a week with no parents, no school, and, most of all, no trouble from magical wishes. At Redwood Rescue Farm, they'll take care of animals, meet new friends, and enjoy the awesome scenery. But when Luca's cabinmate vanishes and the camp leaders magically forget about him, Raven and Luca suspect there's more to the camp than meets the eye. Is there a Wish Library among the redwoods?

Thanks so much for shouting out Accountable! And I very much like your elephant. Coincidentally, I wrote about drawing a horse in one of my recent newsletters.
