Hello 2024! I’m excited for the year ahead and to share it with everyone as it unfolds both here and on Kidlit Survival Guide.
I started the year with a walk by the ocean. How do you like to start a new year?
Here are my latest obsessions:
🎥 Wonka! We saw this as a family on New Year’s Eve (a NYE tradition) and we loved it.
📺 For All Mankind I love the idea for this show - an alternate history where NASA lost the race to land men on the moon. How does that historical change impact the world and the lives of the astronauts and their families?
📖 One of my last reads of 2023 was Divine Rivals* and I can’t wait to read the sequel that just came out.
✏️ 30 Day Drawing Challenge - it’s not too late to jump in over on Draw Together with
P.S. We’re kicking off paid posts this month on Kidlit Survival Guide. You can see what we have planned here.
2024 Goals
I already covered this along with Vicky on Kidlit Survival Guide but, as we’re a whole five days into January, I thought I’d give some updates and how I’m keeping track of my progress. I’ve read every day and chosen to read instead of scrolling a few times (this is an area I need to work on). I have been adding lots of vegetables and fruit to my meals. I’ve written every day (including Morning Pages) and I’ve also drawn every day. I’m doing a 31-day workout streak that I’ve mainly walked so far but there’ll be some skiing coming up and I’d like to reintroduce some running next week.
How are your goals going?
Writing Tip
If you’re not there already, head over to Tara Lazar’s STORYSTORM and get inspired to come up with an idea every day in January. You might spot a familiar face on the blog in the next week or so.
Happy writing,
Christine
