Obsessed this week with:
Starting new habits. I might be a convert to writing morning pages. Well I don’t actually write them in the morning so they’re more like “daily pages” but I love knowing that every day I’m writing something even if I’m not working on a specific project.
Speaking of habits, I’m also walking every day. I just feel better for a daily walk, even in the rain.
Have you started any new habits this month? My local Buy Nothing group. We’re decluttering at the moment and I love passing things on to new homes where they can be loved. Especially things my kids loved first but have grown out of.
Libby app. I read a lot so being able to always have the next book ready is so nice. I searched Libby by books that were available to borrow and downloaded lots of new titles. I’m currently reading Hello, Stranger by Katherine Center as an ebook and I’m about to listen to the audiobook of The Swifts by Beth Lincoln.
P.S. We covered DIY retreats on Kidlit Survival Guide this week. You can see what we have planned the next few months here, including our first paid post on Monday all about Writing Early Readers.
News
In case you missed it on social media, I announced a very exciting project. My friend Laura Zarrin and I are working together on a new illustrated chapter book series! The Magic Makers Club is about three entrepreneurial witches and their adventures and mishaps while running their magical business. Harold Underdown at Kane Press is our editor and it’s truly a dream come true! Thanks to our wonderful agent Elizabeth Bennett for all her work as always.
Writing Tip
Today’s the day for my post on Tara Lazar’s STORYSTORM! Let me know what you think of the magic trick I shared about multiplying your ideas.
Happy writing,
Christine
I'm keeping my 6a-9a accountability mornings on Saturdays open and focused on my writing while my accountability partner is on hiatus. Would love to learn more about your decluttering group... decluttering is one of my non-writing journey goals for 2024. I'm all ears...
I do my own version of morning pages too, which is 1 - 2 pages a day. Three pages back to back is hard on the hand!
Also, I love The Magic Makers characters! What an exciting series. Congrats! ✨
